Fishing on Lake Ontario can result in some of the best Bass, Salmon, and Lake Trout in the world. With the Thousand Islands bridge at Alexandria Bay, NY only 23 miles away and plenty of harbors like Cape Vincent, you just can't go wrong fishing the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario. There are dozens of excellent fishing lakes within a short drive. Boat launches are generally available but please check first because good fishing is sometimes in the least travelled place!

The Clearview is located on snowmobile and ATV trails that connect to hundreds of miles of back roads and destinations. Most town roads in the area are open for ATV and snowmobile traffic. In the heart of the vacationland of St. Lawrence County, NY, we are located 35 miles from the 1000 Islands and Alexandria Bay. Boat tours of the islands showcase the many historic mansions and castles. Right in town, a visit to our Gouverneur Museum is a real treat.

15 miles to the East is the beautiful Adirondack Park with its thousands of acres of State and Federal land for hiking, hunting, fishing, or just enjoying the fall foliage. St. Lawrence County boasts the best Whitetail Deer and Turkey hunting in New York State. There are thousands of acres of prime hunting just minutes from the Clearview.
